Dear Friends,
Welcome to the official website of the Mississippi Legislative Black Caucus! On behalf of the fifty-three (53) Senate and House members of our caucus, please accept our personal invitation to visit our site to review our legislative policy agenda, receive legislative updates and be informed of our progress during the legislative session.
Evolving from an informal organization in 1976 to becoming formally established in 1980, the Mississippi Legislative Black Caucus has been the advocate for many of the social and economic issues impacting many of the smaller and more rural communities throughout our state. As we have for over forty (40) years, we will continue to champion those issues supporting public education, increasing access to healthcare, promoting unfettered access to voting, advocating for equitable spending of state funds and promoting policies that make Mississippi more appealing to our youngest and brightest minds.
We ask that you stay engaged, be proactive and help us shape the future of Mississippi.
Sincerely,
Angela Turner Ford, Chair ( D-S16)
